Saison 1, Ep. #14 - “On peut tout faire, mais pas toute seule” avec Marie-Alice, fondatrice de Karamée

Season 1, Ep. #14 - “We can do everything, but not alone” with Marie-Alice, founder of Karamée

To close season 1 of the podcast Le Kallisto Club , I wanted an episode that brings together everything this podcast represents for me: boldness, gentleness, the roller coaster of motherhood, and the quiet power of women who create, even in chaos.

It is therefore with great emotion that I welcome Marie-Alice , a luminous woman, mother of twins, full-time employee, and creator of the clothing brand Karamée .

What she embodies is what I try to convey with Kallisto: a motherhood that is alive, demanding, sometimes brutal, but also fertile, joyful, and profoundly transformative.

Twin motherhood, a powerful trigger

Marie-Alice became pregnant with twins. And her life changed.

Premature delivery at 34 weeks, long hospitalization, constant trips back and forth between two neonatal units... She tells it all, with rare honesty and touching humility.

“I am strong, but also vulnerable. And today, I know that this is not contradictory.”

It wasn't despite this experience that she launched her brand. It was because of it. Because in the midst of this tidal wave, she felt a visceral need arise: to reconnect with herself.

Getting dressed had become an act of survival, a way of saying: I'm still here, I'm not disappearing . This is where the idea for Karamée was born: a brand of reversible, modular, expressive clothing . A fashion that doesn't choose for women, but invites them to express themselves.

Create a fashion brand without being part of the industry

When she started out, Marie-Alice had no formal training in fashion design. She taught herself: sewing, drawing, pattern making, sourcing... all while juggling her twin daughters and a full-time job in the energy sector.

It's the kind of journey you don't see in glossy success stories. But one we should hear more about, because it's real , courageous , and deeply inspiring .

"I wanted to create a fashion that allows every woman to explore her own unique facets, to play with materials, colors, and moods. A fashion that's alive, like us."

Karamée is a collection of reversible pieces, designed like spices to enhance a wardrobe we already know by heart. Each fabric has a story. Many come from dormant stocks of major luxury brands . The collections are produced in small batches in Belgium, with a resolutely eco-responsible approach.

Ask for help so you don't get lost

Marie-Alice admits it: she needed help. She called on an au pair to give her a break, maintain balance, and avoid doing everything alone. Because even with the best intentions in the world, you can't carry everything on your shoulders.

And above all: we have nothing to prove.

This is a message I'm also trying to convey with Kallisto . The myth of the multitasking mother, entrepreneur of the century, lover-in-chief, and zero-waste activist? No, thank you. We have the right to be ambitious AND tired. Creative AND overwhelmed. Lucid AND vulnerable.

What does success really mean?

At the end of our conversation, I ask him this simple, yet dizzying question: what does success mean to you?

She answers me without hesitation:

“Success is now. What I've done so far, however imperfect, is already a victory. And that fuels what's to come.”

This isn't a LinkedIn storytelling answer. This isn't a Pinterest punchline.

It's a real life choice: being in the present moment, recognizing your victories instead of waiting to "arrive," and honoring your rhythm.

At Kallisto, we also believe in singularity.

When I created Kallisto , I was also carrying a baby. And an idea.

I no longer wanted to choose between beauty , comfort , ecology and feminine power .

I wanted nursing lingerie to help mothers reclaim their bodies , without compromise.

This is what Marie-Alice also does with her clothes. She reinvents the codes , gives back choice, and offers a fashion that respects the body, the schedule, the energy and the creativity of those who wear it.

At Kallisto, each piece is designed with the same objective:

✨ reveal what makes you strong, your style, your uniqueness.

✨ help you say "I'm here, I'm taking my place", even when nothing is simple.

Because your motherhood should never erase you.

Because your body deserves better than compromise.

Because you too are Karamee.
